Branded Chainsaw Teaser
Using Photoshop, I branded the chainsaw render (provided by an external vendor) with our Chapter 2 logo. I skewed and embedded the logo onto the object, fine-tuning kerning and scaling for clarity. To ensure seamless integration, I applied color correction, matching the logo to the object's lighting and tone while maintaining readability.
Animated Milestone Front Card
For each game development milestone, a wrap video is created, and I chose to animate teaser key art for a dynamic milestone intro. The teaser key art was provided by an external vendor, so I began by working within their layered Photoshop file, converting rasterized layers into smart objects to make the file After Effects-friendly. In After Effects, I arranged the layers along the z-axis in 3D space, added a camera to move through the scene, and animated the walkers, Gerik, and the blood and guts spurting through the air. To breathe life into the environment, I added a dash of atmospheric smoke using footage, enhancing the tension and depth of the scene.
Chapter 2 Hero Image
I developed a mood board inspired by horror and comic imagery with painterly grit to set the tone for the Chapter 2 hero image. The debut trailer, created by an external vendor and showcased at the Meta Gaming Showcase, offers a fleeting glimpse of Gerik’s ominous silhouette. My goal was to capture and freeze that striking moment, pairing it with a grime-textured logo to craft a hero image that fully embodied the mood board’s vision. This image represents the game on gaming storefronts like PSVR and Steam.
Frying Pan
The game's Frying Pan item is a powerful weapon with infinite durability and the ability to defeat a walker in 1-3 hits. A cast iron pan engraved with the Gerik and logo branding celebrated the Chapter 2 launch. I provided art direction to an external illustrator, guiding the development of custom artwork of Gerik that was then used for the engraving on the pan. Youtube content creator shows off the pan in an unboxing video.
Trailer Asset - New Orleans Map
Designed a map asset for use in a trailer cinematic, featuring game antagonist, Mama. The map highlights post-apocalyptic New Orleans, marking flooded areas, walker-overrun zones, bell towers, and in-game landmarks as crafted clippings and Polaroids. Created a weathered paper texture as the base, then added vector lines to outline the French Quarter and surrounding areas. Emphasized the Mississippi River with blues, lines, and text, and incorporated marker-style design elements using Photoshop brushes that suggests Mama drew these elements herself.
